As an artist I am constantly fascinated by the inner workings of nature. Its visual complexities and philosophical possibilities form a base from which I begin my exploration.
My interest in soil, molecular structures and other articles of life manifests in imagined shape and found materials. A variety of experiments reveal themselves with new techniques and compositions.
I seek through my work to illuminate the power to transform our inner selves. For me, the non-objective elements become what I refer to as the constant companion, or the soul, taking the form of contemplative subject matter.
Like the Zen gardens of Japan, which have often been referred to as tranquil playgrounds for the mind, I strive to create such a visual atmosphere with the elements of the environment at my disposal.
